How to Make a Reflector Telescope to Mount for a Supernova Spectacular Source MTV News
NEW YORK — If you’re looking for a supernova observatory that will bring the stars to life, this might be the right one for you.
A new solar reflector mount with a built-in telescope and an outdoor viewing area is making its debut at a public event in downtown Manhattan.
The observatory will be called the Telescope, and it will be unveiled on Monday, June 10, at the Park City Convention Center.
“I’ve been working on this project for two years, and we are very excited about it,” said Jim Zielinski, who designed the mount.
“I think it will help the community and it’ll help the city of Park City.”
The Telescope is built of aluminum and has a diameter of 20 feet (6 meters), and is about 2.5 feet (60 centimeters) tall.
The telescope is equipped with two 20-inch (440 mm) diameter reflectors, one on each side of the telescope, which will be mounted on a pole.
The mount also includes a 5-foot (1 meter) wide aperture reflector on each end of the mirror.
“The reflectors are going to give you a really clear view of the night sky,” Zielinksi said.
The telescope will be able to project light from all directions, but it won’t be able, however, to see objects that are much farther away.
That includes stars.
“There are many different types of stars that you can see from this telescope, and many different kinds of planets,” Zuelinski said.
“So this telescope will give you the opportunity to actually see some of these planets.”
The telescope was developed by the American Solar Observatory and has been in development for the last four years.
The Telescope will be available at the public event and at the park.
