Which Reflector Telescope to buy?
New York City is home to one of the most advanced astronomical telescopes in the world, the Dobsonian Reflector telescope, which features a 12″ aperture, 1,400mm focal length, and a 25mm mirror that can view the entire night sky.
This telescope is the largest telescope in the US, and it’s the first telescope ever to receive a “Best Buy” award from the National Astronomical Society.
The Reflector is one of four Dobsonian telescopes that is being considered for inclusion in the National Dobsonian Trails of Light program.
The program is a partnership between the NOS and the American Astronomical Association to provide a nationwide, affordable and accessible way to discover the cosmos.
The National Dobsonal Trails of Lights program is open to all ages, and the award will be announced in early 2018.
In 2017, the National Parks Conservation Association (NPPA) awarded the National Reflector the NPPA Lifetime Achievement Award for the best Dobsonian telescope in America.
The NPPA’s Lifetime Achievement award is given to an organization that has made a lasting contribution to the conservation and education of the American landscape.
The award was announced on September 6, 2018.
The NOS announced the winners of the NPVA Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2017 and 2018.
The NPVA’s Lifetime Achievements award recognizes organizations that have demonstrated enduring contributions to the preservation and enhancement of the public’s interest in the natural world.
The NOS also announced that the Novembe National Forest in South Carolina was the second-highest recipient of the Nova-Luna Lifetime Achievement awards in 2018.
